Most of us plan for lots of things, both big and small—our vacations, holidays, special events, weekly or monthly calendars, and even our meals. It’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day planning and focus only on what’s in front of us that we forget to do some of the big-picture planning, such as college, estate, or retirement planning.

Who We Serve

Premier Planning Group was founded in 2001 by myself and my father, Dan Harris, when we realized there was a need in our community of Annapolis, MD, for objective and honest financial and retirement planning advice. But we didn’t want to just provide the standard advice in the usual way; we wanted to think outside the box and deliver an exceptional customer experience to our clients. 

Our mission is to assist our clients in every aspect of their financial lives, providing comprehensive and personal services. While we have a lot of experience working with federal employees and are familiar with TSP, FERS, and federal pension plans, our clients may come from all walks of life. Typically, they are nearing or in retirement and are looking to protect and maximize their resources for this stage of life. 

Regardless of who we serve, we always put the client first. We understand that it’s not easy to find someone you can trust, especially when it comes to managing your finances. That’s why we treat our clients like family and establish long-lasting relationships built over time. Whether it’s providing smart investment advice, an educational seminar, a holiday party, or a deep-sea fishing trip, we hope our clients feel heard and understood because we want them to have confidence in us and in their financial plan. 

What We Do Best

Our unique process is designed to give our clients a sense of clarity, confidence, and capability regarding their future. When we work with clients, we start by getting to know them and their personal situation first, their goals, dreams, priorities, and risk tolerance. Then we like to educate them on their current financial situation so they have a better understanding and can be empowered to make wiser decisions about their future. This can be summarized by our “we guide, you decide” approach, where we provide our knowledgeable recommendations and create a plan that will help you reach your financial goals. Once you have all the information, you can make an informed decision and we put your plan into action. From there, we monitor your wealth management “road map” and provide continued education along the way. 

Our services include providing advice in the areas of investments, insurance, and financial planning, as well as tax strategy planning. This is different from what a CPA does because we educate our clients on how to think about taxes over the long haul, not just within a single year. Our Social Security Max analysis is also something we feel sets us apart from other advisors who don’t do anything like this. Additionally, our team of outstanding advisors specializes in variable annuities, alternative investments, life insurance, and more. Due to our long-standing commitment to the community and the relationships we’ve built with other vendors, we can provide our clients with referrals for legal, accounting, and mortgage support. Ultimately, our services and our process is designed to simplify the complex world of financial planning so our clients can feel empowered and confident in their financial future.
